YAPC::Asia Tokyo 2011

徹夜明けの牧です、こんにちは。

PerlのイベントなのにPerlの話が少ない！と定評のあるYAPC::Asiaですが、今年は各種ブログでもとりあげられていた「Perl5の未来」の話を是非日本でも！ということでPerl5の現開発リードであり、Perl5の時限リリースなどの開発プロセスの改革を実施してきた Jesse Vincent氏に緊急来日していただくことになりました！Perlのこれから、開発ロードマップなどについて"Beyond Perl 5.16"というタイトルで講演していただきます。

これはPerlの未来と現在の開発の状況についてのお話になる予定ですが、現在の安定版で
ある5.14系で入った数々の新機能、変更について闇のEメール伝説でも話して頂くRicardo Signes氏に追加講演をお願いしています。最近のPerlの新機能についていけてない、という方は是非どうぞ！

そしてスペシャルゲストと言えば 世界の宮川達彦氏もdotCloud社の提供により来日していただけます。Perlで書かれたアプリケーションの簡単な依存関係の管理を行うためのツール"Carton"について語って頂く予定です。

そして最後になりましたが、libev, AnyEvent, Coro等で有名なMarc Lehman氏はメインのトークの他に、スイーツエリアでApp::staticperlというツールについてのミニ講演をして頂く予定ですので、そちらも是非どうぞ！

YAPC::Asia has always been known for its lax attitude towards the talk contents - namely we're not really adamant that speakers talk about Perl and Perl only: we have talks about operations, other languages, and spiritual talks.But this year we've been asked to include a few more talks about Perl itself. Well, we have ample sponsorship this year... so here goes.

We're pleased to announce that we're officially inviting a special guest to this year's YAPC::Asia Tokyo 2011: Jesse Vincent. He will be speaking about Perl5 and its future, in his "Perl 5.16 and beyond" talk.

We also have Ricardo Signes who will be talking about 5.14, along with his Email Hates The Living talk. If you haven't been catching up with the latest in recent perl5 features, this is a great talk to attend.

Speaking of special guests, we're also pleased to have Tatsuhiko Miyagawa, who needs no introduction, thanks to the folks from dotCloud.
