Padre is a large multi-threaded cross-platform desktop Perl IDE written in pure Perl. It was originally created to provide an environment for people that are new to Perl, with extensive plugin support so that experts can add new features. This talk demonstrates some of the interesting things that are possible when you have an IDE designed from the beginning for Perl development, and explains why we created a new Perl IDE when everyone said it was crazy. |
