YAPC::Asia TOKYO 2012

こんにちは、櫛井です。
YAPC::Asia は７回目、私が運営事務局長として関わって３回目となる今回は
新たな場所で、新たな一歩を踏み出す回になったらいいなと思っています。
今年も皆様に協力をお願いすることが多々あるかと思いますが、宜しくお願いします。

■テーマと方向性について
Perl という言語だけではなく、Webに関わる全ての技術を巻き込みながら
成長をしている Perl というコミュニティは、年を追うごとに１つまた１つと
前進しています。今年もまた新たな一歩を刻むべく「Take A Step Forward」
というテーマとしました。日本語だと「さらなる前進」ですね。

今年はPerlという言語の次のステップ、ツールの進化、コミュニティの進化など、それが大きくても小さくても一歩を踏み出していくトークを是非聞かせて欲しいと考えています。それと同時に Perlエンジニアを採用したい企業と、新たな自分の可能性を
模索しているエンジニアとが話せる場所を提供したいなと思っています。

また、前進していくためには常に若い力が必要不可欠ですので、昨年から始めた
学生の参加無料化も継続いたします。来たれ若人！君こそが新たなる希望だ！
みたいなかんじです。

■会場と日程
さて、会場ですが今年は「新たな関係性の構築」を運営事務局としても
テーマとして挙げていまして、ブログにて会場候補探しを呼びかけたところ
多数の会場候補をいただきました。色々な会場を見学し、最終的には
４月にオープンするという東京大学キャンパス内にある出来たてホヤホヤの会場
「東京大学伊藤国際学術研究センター」にて開催することとなりました。
ご協力いただきました皆様、ありがとうございました。

日程ですが、土曜を含めた日程の評判がよかったので今年も
最終日が土曜となるようにセッティングしました。

9月27日(木) 前夜祭(予定)
9月28日(金) 一日目
9月29日(土) 二日目

計三日間です。
毎年言っていますが、他のイベントとかぶらない事を祈ります。
（こればっかりは調整できないので）

つきましては「9/27-29のYAPC::Asiaに参加しよーっと！」などのTweetを
していただけると、うまいこと他のイベント運営の方にも目が止まるかと
思いますので皆様是非宜しくお願いいたします。

また、すでにYAPC::Asia 2012の公式サイトもオープンしております。
今年も海外からのスピーカーを多数ご招待する予定ですので、是非チェック
してみてください！

It's YAPC Time Again!

Hi, I'm Kushii (941). This is the seventh YAPC::Asia, and the third that I take charge. This year we'd like to take a new step at a new venue.

Theme, And Where We're Headed

Perl the language and its community is still evolving each year. We're taking steps forward -- and that's our theme this year: "Take A Step Forward".

This year we'd like to hear talks about advancements, hacks, new attempts to make the language and our community better. We're also going to try and provide a good environment to match up engineers who want to explore new possibilities and companies who want to hire good Perl programmers.

And to take steps forward, you always need the younger blood to help us move on. So we're going to continue our offer FREE admittance to YAPC::Asia Tokyo to students. Come one come all! You are what will make the future.

Venue and Dates

To follow our theme again, we've decided to change our venues, and asked for help looking for a new candidate.
We received many tips, and after looking at all the locations we settled on a new facility within University Of Tokyo that will open come April, Ito International Research Center, University of Tokyo.

We're again going to host the festivities for a whole three days:

Sep 29 Sat
